Our experienced coaching team is led by Head Coach Lyn Garrett and supported by Fran Piggott, Lindsay North, Dylan and Bridget Mathews, and Peter Garrett.

Lyn coordinates the coaching programme, while Fran, Lindsay, Dylan, and Bridget specialise in introducing new bowlers to the sport, helping them build confidence and develop strong fundamentals. Peter provides remedial coaching for experienced bowlers looking to fine-tune their game and take their skills to the next level.

Our coaching journey often begins at our quarterly Bowls Open Days, where newcomers are invited to experience the sport before joining our free coaching sessions held on Monday and Friday afternoons.

The success of our coaching programme speaks for itself. Over the past five years, several novice bowlers have progressed to win the District Novice Competition, with three ladies crowned champions and two men’s runners-up. Two of our former novice ladies now proudly represent Port Natal Bowls at the annual National Interdistrict Tournament.

Our qualified coaching team is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where players of all ages and abilities can learn, improve, and enjoy the camaraderie of bowls. With a wealth of experience across coaching, officiating, and player development, every member of the team is passionate about helping bowlers reach their full potential.

Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, friendly competition, or the opportunity to represent your club, we’d love to welcome you to the WCC Bowls family. Join us and discover why bowls is truly a sport for life.
