Chris Moody

Squash Coach & Squash Fit Coach

With over 45 years of squash experience, Chris Moody has dedicated his life to playing, competing, coaching, and growing the sport. From representing his school and Rhodes University to competing in KZN Men’s 1st League for more than 30 years, Chris has built an outstanding playing career and remains the 2025 Westville Country Club Men’s Champion.

A former Top 10 KZN player, Chris has represented KwaZulu-Natal at the prestigious Jarvis Tournament and has been a long-standing member of the KZN Masters Team, earning multiple A Section victories and national doubles titles. His achievements have been recognised with the KZN Masters Men’s Player of the Year Award, and he has proudly represented South Africa at the World Masters Squash Championships in both the United States and Hong Kong.

Chris is equally passionate about coaching. He works with players of all ages and abilities, offering one-on-one coaching, group sessions, and Squash Fit training. His coaching focuses on developing technique, movement, court awareness, fitness, footwork, power, mental strength, and confidence, helping players perform at their best both on and off the court.

Anne Sayer

Squash Coach

With more than 30 years of competitive squash experience, Anne Sayer is a passionate coach, sports administrator, and dedicated ambassador for the game.

Having represented both SACD and KwaZulu-Natal from the age of 13, she has competed at provincial, national, and international levels, including representing KwaZulu-Natal Ladies A, achieving a Top 10 national junior ranking, and competing at the World Masters Squash Championships in Hong Kong.

Anne’s greatest passion lies in developing the next generation of players. Through her coaching and junior league programmes, she has grown participation from just three junior players to more than twenty-five in just two years, while building a thriving squash community with over fifty weekly league participants.

She has established school squash programmes, coordinated district and inter-provincial events, and coached players of all ages and abilities – from complete beginners to provincial competitors. Anne also runs the popular Junior Box League, giving young players valuable match experience in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Her coaching philosophy is built on discipline, respect, consistency, and a genuine love for the sport. Anne believes that confidence, resilience, and strong character are developed alongside technical skills, helping players grow both on and off the court.

Quinton Kippen

Squash & Racquetball Coach

With over 20 years of coaching experience and more than 15 years of competitive league squash, Quinton Kippen brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to the courts at Westville Country Club.

A former Top 15 KZN player for five consecutive years, Quinton represented KwaZulu-Natal on three occasions at the prestigious Jarvis/Kaplan Cup Inter-Provincial Tournament. In 2016, he competed in the World Masters International Tournament in Johannesburg, winning the Plate Event in the 40-44 age category and finishing 26th out of more than 100 competitors.

Throughout his coaching career, Quinton has worked with players of all ages and abilities, from beginners to competitive athletes. He has coached at leading schools including Thomas More College, Danville Girls’ High, Durban High School, Durban Girls’ College, and Clifton College, while also leading coaching clinics, grassroots development programmes, KZN Junior training camps, and South African Police Service (SAPS) development initiatives.

Quinton offers one-on-one coaching, small and large group sessions, and coaching in both squash and racquetball. He is passionate about developing well-rounded sportspeople, helping players improve their technical skills, tactical understanding, confidence, and long-term enjoyment of sport.

Charmaine Baker

Squash Coach

Charmaine’s passion is helping every player discover their potential, develop confidence, and enjoy a lifelong love of squash.

With over 25 years of coaching experience, Charmaine Baker has dedicated her career to developing squash players and growing the sport throughout KwaZulu-Natal. A Level 2 coach, she has worked with players of all ages and abilities, inspiring beginners, nurturing talented juniors, and helping competitive players achieve their goals.

Charmaine has coached extensively across Durban at schools including Westville Boys’ High, Westville Senior Primary, Northwood Boys’ High, Thomas More College, Durban Girls’ College, Clifton College, Crawford College Durban and La Lucia, Westville Girls’ High, Al Falaah College, and the University of Durban-Westville, as well as leading South African Police Service development programmes.

A passionate advocate for junior squash, Charmaine founded the first Junior Squash Academy at Chiltern Park Squash Club in 1993 under the umbrella of KZN Squash. The academy continues to thrive today and welcomes players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to competitive athletes. She also runs annual ladies’ and junior development programmes for Squash South Africa, hosts a yearly junior open tournament, and assists with a junior coaching programme in London.

Throughout her career, Charmaine has managed junior IPT tours, served on both the KZN Junior and Durban Committees, and been invited to national high-performance coaching programmes. Her contribution to the sport has been recognised with the SA Squash Honours Award (2010) and the Helious Excellence Award (2011).
